View Full Version : Anal Exam

I'm not sure if I have an issue but, here I am typing a question...I'm not having any irregularity, bleeding, cramping, or discomfort. However, when showering/cleaning myself, I'm feeling something roundish and firm just inside of my anal cavity. There's no tenderness or pain associated with it. I'm not sure what's supposed to be in there. Is it muscle, intestine, hemmoroid, polyp?!?

I'm looking for advice on what I should be feeling just inside there.
thanks

There should not be a lump but just a smooth feeling inside your anus.

Thank you for the response. I'm thinking it might be a hemorrhoid since I'm reading that 50-75% of people will get them in their life. It is not protruding but, it's something I can feel that's roundish and firm. I know I need to go and get it checked out....especially if it should only feel soft and smooth in there.

Thanks for your time!

DT15515: I also noticed same thing but not right on anal but little above that. I get irritation and sometimes when i constipate i feel there is something in there which is resisting to move the stool. I get little irritation while passing the stool.

I talked about this to my doctor and she suggested me to use Preparation H cream and suppositories.

Suppositories helped me to reduce the swelling and the bump above the anus but it is not completely going away. I suffer from this issue every month and i have noticed that it happens after my monthly cycle. I have to get myself checked from doctor. I am just sick of this coming and going bump.
I was reading online and also this forum. I feel it is mild hemorrhoids.

Any suggestions from those who recovered from MILD Hem?

Hemorrhoids are primarily caused by constipation so I suggest that you take a fiber supplement twice daily to help you be regular w/o straining.
Most people do not get enough fiber in their normal diet ---. A person requires 25 to 35 grams daily and it needs to be a combination of both soluble and insoluble fiber.

I have used psyllium fiber for 24 years so I am very familiar with the various supplement types on market.

There is a post on the Information Archives at the top of this page about normal BMs -- I wrote it --- page 2 post #8. Maybe worth reading.
