I am not posting about myself, but instead about my mother. She started going through menopause a few years ago. Also around that time her mood changed. She used to be someone that I could tell anything to, but know I cringe everytime we talk because I am afraid that she is going to jump down my thoat, usually over little things. Here are some examples that will help better explain:

(1) She can't let the little things drop. One night we ordered in and they gave my dad the wrong dinner for her. Yes that would make any person made and before she would be mad, but she would make due. You should have heard her screaming at my father (actually you probably did it was so loud). She called him an idiot and stupid because the place screwed up her order. He called to complain and she yelled at him for doing that.

(2) I am going to be starting student teaching soon and it is going to be hard to work and keep up with college work. I was going to have to cut my hours back. She yelled at me for saying that is what I was going to have to do. She called me lazy because I like to take some time to sit around and do nothing. She said that lots of people are going to be doing it, but I haven't met any yet. Even when the conversation was over, she kept harping at it all night long. A few days later my boss said that he would work with me to cut my hours back. I told her that and she was a different person. There was no screaming or yelling and she told me that was a good thing to do so I don't get stressed out.

Are these mood changes part of going through menopause? I don't think I can take it much longer.

Thanks in advance
