Hello,
I had my first treatment of Avonex today, nurse came out and walked me through it.
If anyone else has had Avonex how long did it take for your side effects ( if any) to show?
I had it about 4 hours ago and so far i feel pretty normal.
Thanks

It takes 3 hours for mine to hit. I only get a little feverish feeling. Advil works great for me. I like it better than Aleve. Also, I use the powder mix on the doctors recommendation. People tend to tolerate it better than the pre-filled shot. Good Luck. It is a huge step for you. Congrats on getting through the shot.

Hi Casper,
I've been on Avonex for seven years on & off.
The first time i was on the powder mix. The side effect were horriable, but the nurse forgot to mention to keep taking panadol every four hrs. Silly me only took them once.
I only stopped the meds to have a family.
I'm now back on Avonex . I use the new pre-filled ones.. much easier for me. Not only mentally but easier on the hands.
I have NO side effects anymore since taking Aleve SR 750 . I take one tablet, and it lasts 12 hrs. So i sleep through the night without feeling feverish or the chills...
Good luck with your treatment.
