Okay, if you brew some tea from tea bags and drink it hot or iced with no sugar, it will not cause you to gain weight.

Most packaged (bottled or powder) ice tea contains huge amounts of sugar, which can cause weight gain.

I am certainly no expert, but I've never heard of an acid in tea that would cause a 'spare tire' around your middle. Tea has antioxidents which are helpful to the immune system and help to prevent aging. As long as you don't sweeten with sugar (use some lemon and perhaps Splenda, if you want sweetness) and you should be fine.

p.s. You can always do a search on the properties of tea.

Hi...it's the artificial sweeteners in it that will encourage weight gain as well....nix them totally.

You could use agave syrup, stevia or honey to sweeten it.

Less sugar would be good as well....

How much do you drink daily?

It would be best to make your own rather than purchased preparations of iced tea.
