Hello Everyone:
I have two question for our veterans!
I am two months post RRP. Still dealing with incontinence, getting better though, and impotance. My doc has recommended taking 50 mg viagra everyday, but my insurance only covers 8 100/ month.

Obviously I cannot have any erection, but i am able to climax is that a good or bad sign this far post treatment?
Thank you all

My urologist suggested sildenafil citrate to get more blood flow into the region of the surgery. He wasn't too worried about my impotence problem, just my healing. Like you, he also wanted me to take a 50mg pill every day. My insurance is like yours, 8 (100mg) pills per month. I pay a $12 copay for each refill so that means if I break a 100mg pill in half as my daily dose, it costs me seventy five cents per dose. That's half the month. Now I have to concern myself with the rest of the month or 14 more days. I could go on the internet and buy the generic form of sildenafil citrate at about $2.50 per (100mg) pill. So if I break those in half and it comes to $1.25 per dose or another $17.50 for the remaining 14 days not to mention shipping & handling. I didn't bother with the internet purchase, I ended up just taking the initial 8 (100mg) pills my insurance provided and made it last the entire month. Today, I don't take any. Don't need to.

Regarding your second question...

Good sign!;)

Does the "C" drug make more sense for low-dosage use every few days since it stays in the bloodstream much longer?

Thanks Able for all your input, I have learned a lot from these postings.

I always suggest people start with use of 25mg: it's safter and often all that's needed.

The 100 size often prescribed is far to high a dose for many: it can cause acute side effects, and 50 can also be too high a dose for some.
It used to be available in the three sizes which all cost the same. It might be a bit difficult to cut 100 mg pill into 4, but it can be done.

My doc prescribed 100mg twice a week. I took the first pill and thought my face was on fire and my head was going to explode! Doc said to cut them in half, and that works a lot better. Good thing, since my insurance allows only 15 every 90 days. (Guess they think if you're using more than that you're having too much fun. ;) ) Still, I never take them on an empty stomach to avoid the flushed feeling.

At my 90-day checkup I complained that "Mr Happy" was only operating at 50% or so. He said that was good progress and that I shouldn't expect full function until maybe 9 months. I asked him if the orgasms were OK and he said they were. Whewww!

I don't know but it certainly makes sense.

I don't really know why my uro prescribed "V" instead of "C"...

Maybe by prescribing "V" he gets better perks (Bahama trips, tickets to NFL games, free golf outings, gift cards, etc.) from his local drug pusher (Pharmaceutical Company Rep).;) I think the guy sees my doctor on a daily basis. He's always sitting in the waiting room. Not much different than a street level drug pusher only legal. Must be some big money in prescription drugs!!! Who said we don't need health care reform?
