am having headaches, upper back pain, blurred vison,
bloating, facial numbness, muclse stiffness, chest pain Does anyone know anything about this BP med?I,ve had a CT,MRI of the upper back, echo stress, echo of the heart,
blood work, and everything is normal according to the
doctors.I,ve been on this med. for 45 days.My PCP just
increased the dosage. HE SAY THAT IT TAKES 2 TO 3 MONTHS FOR MY BODY TO ADJUST TO THE MED.Are the side
effects going to increase with the increased dosage?

I have been on lotrel off and on for 3 years 5/20
the headaches don't get any better...... my blood pressure is extremly high if i don't take my meds but sometimes the side effects are worse than the meds themself
how many different meds have you tried?

I've been on Lotrel (20/5)for about 4 Months now, it does a good job on controlling my BP (150/95ish down to 135/80ish). I do have headaches or strange pressure like sensations on various spots on my head, cough and muscle soreness. I have to exercise (I'm in the Military) and muscle aches that would have lasted a day, lasts 3-4 now and I can't seem to get below 18 minutes for a 2 mile run (I use to run in the 16Min range). Gas pain is also another side effect I have.

Update- Lotrel work really well on lowering my BP, But I developed the infamous ACE cough after about 4 months and had to switch- it got really bad. I switched to dilitiazem XR. Works well and I my running times are coming down, Lotrel was slowing me down.

I was on norvasc 5mg, for over a year, but it wasn't controlling my b/p very well. The dr. switched me to lotrel 10/20, I was on in for about 3 months. I developed a horrible cough on it so I stopped taking it. I just take 50mg HCT for now. I still have a terrible cough, mostly after 4 http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/redface.gifo p.m. and am beside myself! I was on antibiotics for a sinus infection and loss of voice. Another factor for me are the costs of these b/p meds, with the exception of diuretics. I am a smoker, and overweight.

So Lotrel does have that as a side-effect. Starting getting headaches-pressure a couple of weeks ago after taking lotrel for 3 months. It isn't terrible, but just annoying. Wish I could be off of these meds. altogether....
