I (male in my 20s) have had rectal itching on and off for about 2 years. My bowel movements seem regular except there seems to be small seasame seed looking things in the stool. I have been to a doctor and have been checked for worms or other parasites - everything came up negative. He gave me some cream, but it doesn't seem to help much. Another interesting issue is that I rarely need to wipe after a bowel movement and there seems to be fleshy type skin around the anus. I was diagnosed with Clymedia (through a urine test) a few years back but was treated for this. Any suggestions on what this could be?

You could try Cortaid anti-itch cream, Desitin for babies several times a day and after every bowel movement try those little medicated pads, such as Tucks or store brand. Hope that help some.

I suffer from rectal itching, I've had it for years but I've never gone to a doctor about it (kind of embarrassing). It's at its worst in the summer because I also suffer from excessive perspiration in that area. I've tried all sorts of anti itch creams and I think I even tried preparation H, nothing really helps much. I mean, it might be temporary relief but it never lasts very long.
Most of the time it's not a big deal, but occasionally it's really bad.

Hi,
I have this problem on and off and it finally got so bad I went to a rectal Dr. He checked me out and I had a couple of hemmroids, but they were not bad eneough for surgery. I also had a yeast infection, which made to itiching and irritation worse.
He gave me Calmopetine Ointment. It's over the counter, but kind of hard to find. Your drugstore may be able to order it, and it's not expensive. I really works wonders for this problem, and it helps heal the skin that can become raw and irritated.
I have also noticed that certain food aggravate the condition - for me sweets, sugar and tomatoes are my enemy.
Of course, it's also a good idea to get checked out to make sure nothing more serious is going on.

hi! I was curious if you could tell me the proper name for a rectal doctor. I want to go to a specialist instead of a general surgeon for my hemorrhoids but I don't know what their specialty is called.
