Yuk,this is awful,I tried to lay down to go to sleep but now I cant. Feels like I have knives going into my upper back. Sharp pains shooting up my neck into my ear. I am in some serious pain,I have had this before so I know it will go away eventually but man this is awful. I am on meds but they dont seem to be working very well. Yuk

Sorry to hear that. Is this the first time you're having this type of pain? Where does it hurt more? Inside the ears? Both? One side? Does the pain seem to be centered in the neck with the earache being secondary and residual pain?

sounds very simmilar to the symptoms I suffer from occasionally...... severe sudden onset, right epigastric pain, radiating to my right shoulderblade and into myneck and lower jaw.....make me roar sometimes it is so bad.I have had full investigations and now diagnosed with oesophageal spasm,symptoms can be very simmilar to heart attack !!! Not much can be done,I take nexium daily but one thing I have found effective is that on immediate onset of symtoms I start chewing ICE and swallowing it chunky,this helps keep it at bay,may take half and hour to subside but it works for me !:)
