I have been on Premarin for over a year since my hysterectomy(ovaries along with everything esle).
My dose has never been changed. I am going to a new GYN next week that specializes in menopause. My hot flashes are daily, along with other symptoms. I am also seeing him because I am hypothyroid some of my problems may be connected to that.
Is increasing the dose of premarin normally needed after time? Previous MD hasn't every check hormone levels since surgery.

Hi jeanettr,
You know every women is different but when I started taking premarin we started with the lowest dose and since the symptoms didn't go away my Dr. did raise the dose. But was on them over two years and didn't need to change it after that. I have now weaned off them actually. Of course having the night sweats and hot flashes again but going to try and go through it and get it over with. Just tell your new Dr. everything that you are going through and they can probably help you decide if you want to increase the dose or not. Take care.
Julie;)
