How often because my DS doesnt want to nap at all during the day, but he sleeps well at night, I think part of it is he is watching his older brother and doesnt want to miss anything. Does is matter if he doesnt nap? he is growing fine and doesnt seem too upset or tired.

My 8 month old sleeps for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours at night and then from 7pm - 5am. And he is miserable without naps.

If he was happy I wouldn't put him down (I'm actually looking forward to when he doesn't need so much sleep, having 2 other children I want my 'freedom' back).

If he's happy, not whingy or grumpy and sleeping well at night and eating well, etc - he's fine :)

Half your luck :)

My LO is 8 months old, and she takes one 1.5 hour nap in the morning at 9, then one 1.5 hour nap in the afternoon at about 1pm. She then goes to sleep at 6:30-7pm and doesn't wake until 7-8 am.

Without naps my LO would be VERY upset. She really needs her sleep. So, I say, your little guy would probably let you know if he really needed the nap.

My DD is 9months old. She takes 2 naps during the day usually 1.5-2hrs each sometimes she will sleep for 3 hours for one of them =). She would also be very miserable without her nap!

I would LOVE if my 9 month old skipped her naps (20 minutes twice a day) and slept well at night. Enjoy!!!! :)
