Well, I took DS today to have blood drawn for his allergy test. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to get results from the blood test? I'm not trying to be overly anxious but I would like to know what it shows. I sure hope it shows something b/c I'm starting to freak out here. Well, not really freak out, but it is frustrating w/ only 2 things I can feed him. But, he likes them, so that makes it easier. :D

i'm not sure how long the tests take... we're having them done at DS's 1 yr appt. Nothing came out positive at his scratch tests - we suspect a berry allergy- but doc said the hives he got could just have been a virus.

What was your DC's reaction? Did you do scratch tests?

good luck!

Well, DS had the blood test, not the scratch test. His reactions included red face rashes that resembled sandpaper, vomiting, diarrhea, irritability, increased reflux, and the strangest of all, disrupted sleep. I thought the sleep disturbances were coincidental until I stopped feeding him the suspect food and he went right back to sleeping through the night. I didn't even know that could be a symptom, but it apparantly was.
