I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue and can help me:

My brain has suffered quite a bit. I've been put on IVIg but now I'm wondering if certain symptoms are b/c of my brain - especially my intolerance of loud noises.

I can't stand noise and it never even bothered me before. Anyone else?

i know that the last few years i can no longer tolerate alot of commotion and noise , it just makes me numb up .. i have to get out of the congestion to be able to breath sometimes .. it may seem rude to some, but i get dizzy if too much chattering is going on at the same time ..

of course i try to block it out , and just nod , but i had to tell my family it is me, i just get confused and they think i am mad cause i sometimes have to abrubtly leave the room ... i do apoligize and say i just gotta get air .. it's awful feeling .. so i certainly empathize ...

Hi, jlbrow. I don't experience this but yes, it definitely is possible that it relates to the location of the lesions on the brain.

When my system is "in retrograde", certain noises weird me out. I can not stand the vacuum cleaner running, but the power saw is fine. I have found that some foam ear plugs helps. When the boys are noisy, I sometimes need to go to m room and close the door.

Multi-tasking also "weirds" me out too.

Thanks to everyone.

It's comforting to know I'm not alone in this weirdness. When I'm around any noise I almost can't think. Sound seems to overload my brain. I'm going to ask a neuropsyhologist and my neuro what they think. I'll pass on whatever I learn.

Thank you again!
