Generally it takes the body about a year to clear the virus... whether that means it's gone for good or just in hiding is anybody's guess. That's the one thing about this virus that confuses me. Supposedly it can take up to two years, or as little as a few months. It differs from person to person.

If you have warts and you go to the clinic to get them removed, they'll probably use the liquid nitrogen to freeze the warts. At the time when I went in I only had two warts and they were very small. It took them about 3 days to disappear. It can take a week or longer, though.

I don't know what they do to treat warts inside the vagina. My guess is they'll give you some kind of medication to apply to them... unless there's some therapy they do.

If you do have HPV, don't fret... I went through this about 3 months ago until I went to the clinic and was diagnosed with it. It's really not as awful as people think it's going to be.

well for someone whos already passed the steps, looking back.. it seems that it wasnt hard.. but ppl generally think.. WHAT IF. what if their immune system is too weak.. what if the medication wont work.. what if it doesnt go away at all.. what if they think its gone but in the future they give it to someone they love and they feel like *** about it..
so ya.. thats why when its gone, ya big deal, it was nothing.

Don't worry, like the poster after me said, the worst part of having HPV are the WHAT IFs.

Condoms will not protect against HPV. They'll help, but because it's transmitted through skin-to-skin contact with the infected area, condoms are kind of pointless for prevention of it.

From what I understand with HPV, even though you'll read conflicting information on the web, it will stay with you for life, but it will be like after you've had chicken pox... your body continues carrying the strain in order to create antibodies and eventually make you immune to it. Medical professionals seem to think that your body will take care of HPV on its own and make it disappear within a year or two, tops. It's controllable. And you can always get it treated.

I wouldn't worry about not being able to have children. HPV won't prevent you from that, and most people who have it and are honest with their partners from the beginning don't have too many issues. I think the scare of having to tell someone about it is the worst part, but if you explain to them that most sexually active people will get HPV at some point in their life, it makes it sound a lot less worse. It's really not the nightmare you think it is :)

Chin up! You'll feel better after you see the doctor.
