View Full Version : HBP meds and blood alcohol levels

Does anyone know if there have been any studies done regarding HBP meds (i.e. cozaar and nadolol-generic for corgard)and the effect these meds can have on blood alcohol level testing? Could a person taking these meds have a higher blood alcohol level (even after 10 hours) than a person not taking these meds?
If you can reference any specific studies, I would appreciate it.

RJP,
Let me guess: you were pulled over in a DUI...sorry.

I've never seen any correlations but I'll keep my eyes open.
Having taken both those drugs my opinion as a test subject would be that the Cozaar has no (or slight) effect but that the nadalol (Corgard) has plenty. Corgard so lowered my metabolic rate that I would probably still register some of the alcolol I drank in the EIGHTIES! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
AND Corgard has a preposterously long half life(like 3 days http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/eek.gif ) so the doses keep adding day to day and it takes FOREVER to clear the huge accumulation it from your body.
All in all, a DREADFUL drug!
