Why when I lay down do I feel like my heart starts racing (which is not the case) BP reads 137/84, 66. I am also sleepy when I lay down, but immediately become wide awake again when I lay down. I also develope a pressure headache as I lay in bed and sometimes also experience a burning sensation in my upper stomach and on occassion experience acid reflus (yuk). Sleep is becoming increasingly an unattainable goal and it's affecting my concentration and energy level.

You need to get a referral to a sleep specialist and have a sleep study done. GERD is a possibility, but should not give you anything other than the yucky reflux that you described. The other thing to check into is your thyroid. That little devil when dysfunctional hits every bodily function you have. Early dysfunctional thyroid hits.. depression, sleep, anxiety, heart, cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood pressure... the list really goes on and on.
What you are experiencing is not normal and could easily be the result of one or more sleep disorders.. there are eighty and your symptoms list was vague and short.. so I will not speculate. So I recommend you make an appointment with a sleep specialist and try following the sleep hygiene guide in the mean time. I hope you find the source of your issue soon. Sleep is truly golden.. when it is adequate good quality sleep. :)
