Recently I have been changed to Zolft for anxiety w/symptoms of depression. I was switched to Zolft from Nortriptyline, as of right now, only been on it for 3 days, and stopped taking the other med, I've been noticing that I have been feeling faint, and I at times feel like my legs are about to give out and I get the feeling I am about to vomit but just end up dry heaving. Along with this I've noticed I haven't had an appetite. Are these symptoms normal?? It's getting frustrating because this is the 4th time in 6 months that my meds have been changed.
Also,
I've heard mixed things from this med. Some have told me it causes weight gain, others weight loss...anyone know?
Thank you.

I have been on it for about 5 to 6 weeks at. 4 weeks at 100mg. I really like it. It is started to kick in and I donlt need to take as much klonopin with it.
I actually have lost weight with this med. I can usually tell right away if i am going to gain with a medication and so far no weight gain.
You could be having a tough time right now because you came off of one and gone to another med. Give it some time. Give your body time to adjust.
How much are you taking?

Thank you for your reply.
Well I'm on 100mg of Zoloft, 50mg of Trazodone and 37.5mg of Effexor XR...now they have just given me Klonopin today for just incase I guess. I see that you are also on this med as well. Anything advice you can give me with all of this. The doctor wants me to try Zoloft for 2 weeks then come back. She might want me to just have the other three but wanted to "experiment" with all of them together. I'm just getting really frustrated and down, I feel like I'm heading right back to my lowest point...

Are you on the Trazadone for something else? Have you been on the Effexor for a long period of time?
the zoloft takes weeks to get the full effect - so I would give it more time.
The klonopin is great to have while starting up on medications. As you may know these meds sometimes can cause an increase in anxiety before it starts to work. the klonopin will help with that.
when you are on a medication how long do you stay on it before switching?

I've been wanting to stay on a medicine for longer than my doctor wants but she just keeps thinking by switching me around that she'll find the perfect one. And I just feel like it's messing me up more than anything. She game me Trazadone for Insomnia. I've been on the Effexor for 2 weeks now. And she gave me the Klonopin for when I'm feeling really wound up. She started giving me Zoloft thinking that maybe combining the two meds would help. But I just feel like using the both of them is getting me sicker. Not only that they get some stomach hurting so bad that I haven't been eating as much as I should because I feel like I'm about to vomit. Is it normal to be on this many meds? Any tricks to take it with to help with the stomach?

Is she a phyciatrist? I just think your on so many different meds that your body is a bit confused. Each of the meds you are on tales more than 4 weeks to get the full effect. So maybe she was too quick in giving you a cocktail like this.
The Klonopin can help you with sleep until the meds kick in.

It was my physiatrist but I've only seen her a few times and the sessions were just her shouting out different meds and what they do and this and that never really asked me a lot of questions about myself or anything like that. I was referred to her by my physician because she thought I should see a physiatrist to get a hold on the medicine change originally. This was my first change. Then she forgot to fax all of my information to her and when she finally did my physician called me in so I went and she was the one changing me over and over again. So when my physician saw the report and how many changes had happened and what she was doing with all the drastic changes all at once. She called me in. She's know me forever and she saw how messed up I was without me even saying anything. So she took it into her own hands(this was just this morning) so she wants me off the Zoloft and to stick with the Effexor XR for right now and keep the Klonopin so my attacks I have been getting. I just shake...I literally feel like I'm going crazy :( I just don't know how much more I can take. She gave me the Klonopin to help take the edge off. And isn't thrilled with the idea of Trazodone, and the Zoloft when the physiatrist knew I was put on Effexor not soon before but told me to hold onto it for right now but stop taking it. She wants me to just use Effexor and Klonopin and today I just feel like my whole body is going to crash. I keep having attacks where I shake and my heart pumps really hard. When is this going to stop???:(

Glad that you got these meds under control. Don;t be afraid to take the Klonopin to help relax you. Hang in there and soon you will feel better.
are you speaking with a therapist regarding your anxiety?

Yes I see a counselor once a week and she calls me at least twice a week to make sure everything is going alright. I am going take to my physician in a week so she can revaluate me. Thank you so much for you support. This is really helping.
