Hi all,
I scanned through all the hints and didn't see much about this.
One of the worse things for me is bending over to get the laundry in and out of the dryer. I searched and found a top loading dryer. Does anyone have one of these and do you like it? They are a little pricey.... Any ideas?
Also hard to retrieve what ever is in the bottom cabinets in the kitchen....forget it!

You might consider having someone raise your dryer up to the level that is comfortable for you. Maybe a friend that is good at carpentry. It really is simple to do this.

I have a front loader.
My hubby took my old computer chair and took the arms and back off. So my basket sits on the chair and I can push it around. He also built a table with baskets for each color of laundry. My children sort the dirty laundy in the proper baskets. When one is fulll, they sit it on this computer chair and put it in front of the washer so that I can start the laundry.
I love my front loader!!

I put a permanent hook on the wall next to my dryer and that's the new home for my grabber. I can reach what's right in the front of the dryer, but the stuff in the back --- no way! I always use the grabber for that.
My family, after much (!) reminding, has finally understood that my two most used pots and their lids are to go noplace except right at the very front of the pot cabinet. All the others can be nested and the lids thrown up on the cabinet shelf, but those two need to stay where I can get them myself. My other grabber is on a hook in the kitchen. On a good day, I can bend at the knees enough to grab those pots, on a bad day, I can use the grabber. (I should probably just use it all the time anyway, but it takes longer and is a pain in the neck, so if I can manage without it, I do.) If I need the other pots, or if there are pots to be put away in the back, I get one of the kids or my husband to do it. Sometimes it means stuff has to sit out for a day until someone is available, but oh well. I'm letting go of having to have everything neatened and put away right away.
These little things make such a difference in our days, don't they?

In regards to the lower cabinets, stores sell pull out drawers that can be installed inside your cabinets. (as long as you have someone that can install them). It works like a drawer does on slides & rollers. It's kind of like lining your cabinet bottom with a box that's several inches high, except you can pull it in & out. Of course it will still be low, but one wouldnt have to stretch & reach for things in the back. You just pull it out, sit on a stool or something, and grab what you need, then push it back it.
