I am 26 years old and have had high BP since I was a teenager. My BP has been as high as 200/110 but normally is about 160/90 without medication. Before I started taking medication I would sweat like crazy and have to use the restroom about every 45 minutes. I have also been hospitalized twice in the past few years with atrial fibrillation and pericarditis. A doctor also told me that I have an enlarged heart.
The doctor put me on Atenolol which brought my BP down to around 130/80 and seems to have stopped the horrible sweating. I still seem to use the restroom about every hour or so.
I am just wondering if the high BP, sweating, frequent urination and other problems could be signs of something else. The only tests the doctor performed were an EKG and urine test. He says the high BP probably doesn't have any cause.
I am otherwise very fit. I run a couple miles a day and lift weights regularly. I'm just curious if these problems could be signs of something more serious. Anyone else have similar problems or advise? Thanks!
