I have had a Colonoscopy 3 years ago, and I do not remember ANYTHING from the procedure!

ANYWAY---- my doctor, who is a good friend of mine, gives 50-75 mg of Demerol along with as much Versed as you need to make you comfortable. It is called titrating to effect.


A little advise-----IF you have to drink the GALLON prep solution- (GoLytely), follow the directions on the bottle---Plus, CHILL the water filled gallon 12 or more hours ahead of time, mix half the jug with one flavor pack, and then the second half with another flavor, that way you get a different flavor half way, last of all use a straw to drink the 8 oz with. Also you may need to add ice cubes, so it goes down better------- AND LASTLY!!!!!-----STAY NEAR A TOILET!!!!!!!!!! Start your prep early 3-4pm so you can SLEEP without interruptions the night before the procedure.....


IMPORTANT FOR THE DAY OF THE Colonoscopy BRING a significant other with you that can Drive you home.......You CANNOT Drive after this procedure!

The prep is WORSE than the procedure.....
