trazidon, what does it mean?

I think it's a medication to help a person sleep.

trazodone is useful in helping people who can't sleep. I'm on it now, started at 50mg but doc wants to increase me to 100mg. I'm not going to increase it though because i figured out someone in a dicussion group with other bp'ers and tried it last night and it worked.

i'm on lamictal as well, which seems to have some appetite suppresant affects. trazodone seems to counteract those affects, lol. So i don't eat much at all at dinner time. Then when i take my trazodone, i do get sleepy, but i also get very very hungry. I end up eating which then gives me energy and i can't sleep, lol.

So although i didn't eat dinner last night, I made myself eat around 9pm, then took the trazodone. got sleepy, no hunger, and went to bed and right to sleep.

don't know what else you're taking or if you will have this issue but wanted to share what i discovered just in case.

You might want to ask your doc for Temazepam for sleep.... I too take lamictal and also seroquel and several others and I have no appetite... Just a thought.... Jenn

Hi Angel I wish Lamitical had the same effect on me. I love to eat and eat I do, then I get depressed and start new diets. I was on Trazadone and lots of other Med's. Now I'm on Lamitical and Zoloft.

Trazadone is a med that is supposed to quiet down the mind, at least that is what my doctor told me. For me, the trazadone worked well until I was started on Lamictal, then it seemed not to work as well for me.My doctor keeps upping my trazadone, but it doesn't seem to work yet for me. Trazadone quiets the mind so you:confused: can sleep, it doesn't actually make you sleep.
