Actually, I do this to relieve a run of PVCs. My Cardio suggested it, and sometimes it works....along with bearing down like you are having a BM and he also said IF your PVCs are really bad and nothing else helps to stick your face in a pan of ice water. Have only had to do that ONCE, but it worked. I was coughing away my PVCs before he even told me to do this.....I guess it is just a general reflex.
