Well treatment doesn't make HPV itself go away; it just makes warts and abnormal cells go away. See this is the grey area with HPV that frustrates me and everyone else who has it. No doctor is able to say for sure whether HPV will always be with you or whether it can be gone for good after your immune system fights it off. There is a lot of misinformation out there because of conflicting views on this.

I was told that if I don't see them again after a year, that it's probably gone for good. Whether or not there's a way to really find that out, I don't know.
