My husband had a fall and has a compression (not a fracture) of L-2. His pain is mostly in his right thigh at this point. It is getting better, but very slowly.
What at this point will help with his healing? He is off his feet most of the time and isn't doing much. He is taking Acetaminophen (Tylenol) for pain.

Is he under the care of a spine doctor? If not, he should be. His healing should be under a physicians care along with monitoring his healing.
He needs to rest and avoid any lifting, bending, or twisting. Spines do not heal quickly, AT ALL. It's a slow process, if they heal at all.
Was an MRI done? He may need more meds than just tylenol to help him deal with any pain he has.

The problem was is that we didn't get a call back from the doctor re: the x-rays. I had to call and then finally received a call back from the office staff, so I didn't even get a chance to speak to the doctor,(who is a GP). I will call an Orthopedist to make an appointment soon. I wll have to request his x-rays from the hospital where they were taken. We don't have a lot of choice of drs. here, even though we live in a large size city. I already found an Orthopod who is covered by our insurance.
BTW, thanks for the response. Would you believe that I used to be an Ortho nurse? It was many years ago, but I worked in a hospital. In my "old" age I have forgotten a lot of my medical knowledge. Don't get old, it isn't much fun.
