hi. I have been on celexa 20mg for a few months and doing well. Have trouble sleeping so the doctor thinks I may still have some anxiety that I am unaware of causing me not to sleep. So she put me on 40mg and 1mg of klonopin at night. The thing is she does not want me to stay on the klonopin so after this I have 0 refills. I do feel a little more tired since starting the 40mg of celexa which I take during the morning. Do you think it would help to switch to taking the celexa at night? and if so what time? I usually go to bed between 10 and 11pm.thanks oh, and I have tried trazadone, ambien, serequel. The thing is the first night or two I sleep like a baby then it is like the medicine quits working!!

Take the Celexa at night. I took it around 5 or 6pm. See how that works for you.

Hi,
I've been on only 10 mg. Celexa for almost 2 months.
Yes, sleeping "is" an issue for me, too.
I tried the Ambien CR, xanax, etc....
I find the Celexa "hypes" me up a little. I'm kind of afraid to try it at night.
I do remember hearing my GP say (after some other health issues I'm facing) we may "up" my dosage to 20 mg.
I think it's a good anti-d, but I'm not so thrilled, either with the sleep issues.
I guess you just have to experiment, to find what will work for you.
My GP doesn't seem to balk at klonopin taken "as needed."
Maybe you could ask for a prescription to take like that, rather than every night---or perhaps cut it in half.

I am on the celexa 40mg as well as the klonopin at night. But she did not give me any refills for the klonopin. I am going to try taking the celexa for a few nights and hopefully that will work. The dr. just wants me on the celexa only but I keep having these sleep issues and I guess she thinks the celexa should take care of my sleep issues as well. All I know is everyone don't be scared of their doctor. Take a proactive approach because it is your health and sleep has a large part to do with anxiety and your health. You know your health the best.

im also on 20mg of celexa and i have always taken it at night. I like to take my meds at night that was i dont forget lol. I never noticed a sleeping issue for me but with my anxiety the only way to get rid of it was for me to sleep even if it was all day. Everybody has a different way of reacting to it though.
