For about five days now I've had a non-stop headache. Along with it I've felt dizzy, shaky, weak, and light-headed to the point that I feel as though I'm going to pass out or collapse. Has anyone experienced this or have any clue what it is? I've never had any medical problems or family related things.

Hello,
I am new to the board, but I did want to reply to your message. I have hormonal migraines. I also have constant headaches, even with medication... so you are not the only one. Have you talked to a doctor about this? You symptoms all point to a migraine or tention headache to me. Good luck, and I hope you are doing better now.

Laura, I hope you get my message... To me it sounds like you have symptoms of Hypoglycemia (or low blood sugar!). I felt the way you do when I was a senior in high school. I changed my diet to high protein, low carbs, and avoiding sugar. The most important thing was making sure I had some protein in the morning... But I remember feeling light headed, a lot of headaches, and no energy! The diet made me feel like a new person after about two weeks! Good luck and let me know how you're doing.

I have hormonal headaches also... I wake up with them about 3 times a month and they can last a couple of days. I'm trying something new... an Estrogen patch that I use just five to seven days per month. I am 44 years old and am peri-menopausal and I've had other symptoms that doctors have told me it's because my estrogen level must be low (but not low enough to go on a complete HRT program. It's called Estriol... supposed to be a pretty low dose of estrogen, but I couldn't believe it, I didn't wake up with a headache this morning. My headaches usually start at the base of my neck and work their way up to the top of my head, but my stiff neck went away also! It's probably too soon to tell, but it worked for today anyway. So anyone else out there that have similar symptoms as me, maybe you can get your doctor to prescribe estrogen patches. Any input out there?

Any headache that is not relieved with pain medication and continues needs to be investigated by a doctor to rule out any serious problems. Make an appointment with your doc ASAP to get this checked out. It probably isn't anything serious but until told otherwise do not ignore this.
