I'm new to No. VA trying to get help for chronic migraines that I've had for 24 years. NIH just does studies, causing headaches and watching the 2 legged guinea pigs squirm under MRI monitoring etc. I've heard about a headache center in DC but I don't have any info on it. I'm still trying to get help with them and perhaps get off disability and have a life again.
Thanks to all respondents.

Hi,
I live in MD, but I've found a great doctor's office in Alexandria I'm going to: The Neurology and Headache Center, Dr. Stark 703-212-0700 on Kenmore Ave. He has a website too: http://washingtonpost.com/yp/nhtc/l.html
I'm currently enrolled in a Botox study there. It is for people who have headaches (migraine or tension) at least 15 days out of the month. You have a 1/4 chance of getting placebo and 3/4 chance of getting botox. Meanwhile, you can continue taking any medication you currently take (I -eat- um...take Imitrex) and they can give you lots of free samples too (nice for me since I don't have health insurance!). Even if you don't qualify for the study, they are very good people there. Busy, yes, but good, friendly and compassionate.
Good luck!
