Hello everyone,
Over the past few months, I have been having very severe headaches.
I can actually trace the pain along the veins of my head. It is a constant throbbing pain in my temple. There are 2 veins from the forehead going to each ear which if I put my finger to them, are constantly throbbing. The pain is unbearable at times.
Does anyone know any way to relieve this? Thanks for any answers. My doctor, whom I saw, did not manage to help me.
Thanks

If your pain is unbearable and your doctor did not help then it is time to see a different doctor. Headaches that are unbearable or cannot be controlled with over the counter medicines need to be further investigated so you need to see someone else for your headaches.

Dexys,
I don't know if this will help but I've noticed with my migraines they are food related. I started getting really bad migraines when I turn 18, I had the tunnel vision and everything. I went to a neurologist, who gave me a list of foods that can trigger a migraine. I know for me, chedder cheese, chocolate, hot dogs, pizza and of course any kind of alcohol and caffeine will immediately give me a head splitting headache that will just about make me cry. I have avoided those triggers for many years and they have definitely made a huge difference.
Maybe you should take a look at your diet and see if it relates to your painful headaches.

For severe headaches as you're describing, you should really see a neurologist. Not only will you get a better diagnosis, you'll also then be on the way of getting rid of them altogether. Good Luck

I have recently found out that I can get rid of a headache or at least drastically reduce one by brushing my scalp with a brush that is rough. I had one that the ends have come off of and so I tried that. Many times the reason that your head throbs is because the blood is not circulating. The neurologist told me that with migraine headaches the blood vessels squeeze down to the size of a pencil lead. I don't get migraines since getting off hormones, but some of the tension and allergy ones can hurt just as bad as the migraines. Especially caffine detox ones really hurt. Anyway try this,it really works for me especially when I first feel one comming on. Try doing this several times a day.
