My husband has had a couple of attacks. I get migraines, so I have tons of books on headaches, but I can't figure his pain out...
He wakes up in the middle of the night with a severe sharp pain on the top of his head. He has to go into the spare bedroom bacause he is rolling and moaning so much he would wake me up. He says that the pain is so much he cannot stay still, and be quiet. He also got extremely nauseous. I thought it was a migraine, but the pain doesn't sound right. He took some pills and the pain started to slightly dull, so he was ale to fall asleep. He wakes up the next morning with little pain left over. Now he has only had two of these and they were both in the middle of the night. I was wondering if anyone had ever experienced headaches like this before. I don't see much point going to the doctor about them if it is a once a year thing and there is nothing we can do about it.
In all of the books I have read about headaches, there is no 'type' of headache that is localized at the TOP of the head. The closest thing I could find was an exersion headache (when you over-exert yourself). He is an avid mountain biker, and the day before he had not done any physical activity. It just doesn't seem to make any sense to me...
Any help is appreciated.
