My son is 14 months and only drinks milk and diluted apple juice. He has a nasty cold and I was thinking of giving him some orange juice. I know when I don't feel well that OJ helps me to feel better (must be the vitamin C).
I assume I should also water this down? Anyone else give their toddler OJ?

My kids are grown up, but knowing me I'm sure I had them try it when they were that age! (I was never one for jars of baby food) I would definitely water it down and just start out with a small amount and see how he handles it. I'd think in a couple of hours you'd know if he was allergic to it or not handling it well. Could also call your PD and ask them if it would be ok to do this or not.
Hope he's feeling well soon.

I don't usually give OJ to my daughter just b/c it seems like there's so much more acid in it than regular juice. I'm sure it would help if he's sick, though, and like you said, watering it down would be a good option as it may taste too bitter or strong for him.

i'm sure it wouldn't hurt, and my two girls LOVE it.... i don't water theirs down because i only very rarely give it to them.... either way, if you put it in a sippy, get the pulp free kind or it clogs the valves.... kind of a pain! hope he gets better soon! :)

My daughter is now 21 months, I began giving orange juice to her a few months ago. I don't usually dilute my daughters juice too much, but I would recommend that you do. I buy organic orange juice because it is free of chemicals and toxins. There shouldn't be a problem with oj.
