CANEY GIRL 01-16-2008, 09:03 PM I am stuck in a feeling of daja vue? anyone had this? if so what does yours feel like? Sponsor kw123 01-16-2008, 09:35 PM All the time when I'm not on my meds. I feel not real ,like I'm looking at myself from somewhere else even though I know I'm not. Crazy... Is this the first time this has happened to you? It too will pass . I have been doing this alot lately. It is called derealisation. Check it out. CANEY GIRL 01-17-2008, 01:44 PM i feel like im in a dream but its a dream ive already had. if that makes since. i feel that my normal surroundings feel new. it started yesterday while in the shower. i felt a sensation that i had felt before and i was trying to remember.then it was like i had a day dream and everything got all weird. the sensation was a funny feeling in my stomach then i got a flush feeling in my chest.ive felt weird ever since. then i read about seizures and was scared it was some kind of epiletic episode.i dont know i just know im afraid. anyone felt this way? Benjamin01 01-20-2008, 01:43 AM Hi there CANEY GIRL, As kw123 pointed out, this sounds like derealisation. I myself experience what you have described on quite a regular basis; it is as though I cannot quite work out whether I am in a dream or not. My surroundings seem somehow different, yet my logic is telling me that nothing has changed since five minutes ago. The first time this happened to me I really freaked out, but I find that trying to distract myself helps. The really annoying aspect of this is that sometimes I really am dreaming, but I am dreaming that I am trying to distract myself from the dream! And then there are the rare episodes when I am dreaming that I am dreaming of dreaming about distracting myself from what feels like a dream! That is confusing to you, but even more confusing for myself whilst it is happening! But anyway, please do not be afraid of it; derealisation is caused by anxiety and so become anxious of it will only 'fuel the fire'. I am sure there is nothing wrong, and as a side-note: if you start feeling very anxious on a regular basis, consult your G.P. or a therapist. Tim 007 01-21-2008, 06:12 PM I had very bad depersonalization/derealization when I had my first few "episodes" of panic attacks...I felt that Lorexapam(Ativan) worked well. It's not a "solution" to the problem like (excercise/diet changes/zoloft, etc.), but it's a crutch that can come in handy. Goodluck to you |
