View Full Version : Stomach Migraine

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me and whether they can tell me a)what stomach migraine is and b)where I can find more information about it?

I talked to a friend tonight and she suggested that my 8 year old son may have it.

He is normally very healthy, but for the last four nights or so he has been waking up screaming at about 2 to 3 am. When I go into his room, mostly he is crying and curled up in a ball and saying that his belly is really hurting. Unfortunately, he can never tell me exactly where the pain is and when I try to look at or touch his belly, he pushes me away. In some cases I have to go down and make him a hot bottle to put on his belly. This really seems to help him and soothes him and I will then sit with him until he falls asleep. He will then normally sleep until the next morning.

He has a good appetite and does not vomit or have diarrhea and by the next morning his belly ache has totally gone and will go to school as normal.

Do these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? However, I don't understand why they have just started. Can anyone enlighten me on this? What should I do?

Thanks

Wounder

I would consider getting this checked out by the doc since the pain is severe enough to make him curl up in a ball and not let you touch him. I do not know anything nor have I ever heard of a stomach migraine. Have this checked out by his doctor though as he should not have to continue with this type of severe pain.
