I really want to look into getting a tummy tuck done but I have no idea where to start. I have been reading up online about it for a few months now. How do I even get started? Do I go to my family doctor and are what he thinks? I have a friend who has had ps and was gonna see if she would reccomend her surgeon.

Look in your area for a "Board Certified Plastic Surgeon." or within driving distance that you are comfortable with.
Your family dr could be a good place to start......as your friend.....You will probably pay a consultation fee but, many refund the fee if you have them do a procedure.

I would look for doc that maybe someone u know has had stuff done or go on line in your area and read reviews. I had a tummy tuck done 2 years ago this Jan 08. It was the best surgery I have ever done. Time makes it even better. It also gives you incentive to lose more weight. I was not over weight, but developed a pouch from having two kids. Also had lipo of the flanks and breasts done. It made me feel great! I had a hard time picking the doc, cause "how do you know" he's the right one meaning is his work "good" you have to trust your instincts. I went to two docs and picked the second one and I'm glad I did. He was so caring and his staff was excellent for the after care. Be prepared, it took me at least five months to feel back to normal. But I think it was from the lipo more than the tummy tuck, I had a pain pump for the tt and really didn't feel anything, if I wouldn't have had the lipo I think I wouldn't have acted like anything was wrong. good luck!
