I'm afraid that I'm experiencing a side effect of using too much aspirin. I've taken 2 extra strength aspirin tablets every night before bed for the past year or so, thinking it'll help me sleep better (it seems to work). Now I'm experiencing frequent morning headaches that don't seem to have any reason to be there. I often drink a light beer (sometimes 2) with dinner each night and I thought that might have something to do with it, but that doesn't make sense either. Has anyone ever heard of negative effects of too much aspirin???

That is not an excessive amount of Aspirin to be taking routinely so I doubt that is the cause of your headaches. Have you considered that maybe your pillow is worn and needs replacing. It could be worn and not supporting your neck properly any more. Do the headaches seem to coincide with the nights that you have a beer at supper? Alcohol can be a trigger for headaches. If none of this fits then you will have to try to find the cause or check with the doc and see if they can't find the cause.

That doesn't sound like enough to be giving you a rebound headache to me, but of course every body is different. You can talk to your doctor about it to see if there is something else to take to get you off the asprin.
One thing to consider though is that NASAIDs (like asprin) in combination with alcohol are very bad for your liver! Doing this on a regular basis is heading you in a bad direction. If you need to hear more warning about this, just check in to the liver dysfunction board!
