For the past few weeks I have really been having some sleep problems, I am guessing it is mainly due to stress seeing as I am having some family problems right now, but the unfortunate thing is that these problems cant be dealt with on my behalf anymore until the 2 "problem makers" arent pulling their weight so my hands are tied.. Anyway back to the sleep problem, I fall asleep fairly easily at night, but usually wake up once around 2 or so, and then about 6am (half hour before I normally get up) & when I do get up at 630 I feel dog tired, I just want to lay and sleep for 3 more hours, I feel played out from all the crazy dreams I had that night, not scary nightmares, but just plain weird, any suggestions? I am assuming I am going to hear, get rid of the stress but, Ive had this problem on a smaller scale before the stress as well.

I would never tell you to get rid of the stress. :)

You are suffering from sleep deprivation. Stress and anxiety may be the source.. but it is the interrupted and poor quality sleep causing the fatigue upon waking. Some things are out of our control and we can not fix the stress. However there are many things you can do. First look to the sleep hygiene post stickied here. Try to follow it in your own way to the best of your ability. Also look at venting.. here or in a journal.. write down your stressors and peevs. I had a cluster of license plates in mine a couple of days ago.. crazy drivers in the rain. Put it all on paper. then you can try pushing it out of mind. Sometimes writing down everything that annoys you and everything you need to do then going back and looking over it all can lighten your mood. ;) I have laughed at some of the things that make me mad later the same day with thoughts of WHY?

Life can be tough and when sleep sucks it is even worse. you may benefit from melatonin or chamomile tea. These help relax you and ease you into sleep. If this continues and you can not correct it you may want to consult a sleep specialist. Unfortunately since it is a sudden onset issue it is hard for me to believe of any specific disorder that might be the cause and thus a ready cure.

I wish you peace of mind and a good nights sleep. You aren't alone. At least I can treat my sleep apnea, those that have to deal with things not in their control have a harder time of it.
Sincerely,
MG
