Hi everyone - I have been "lurking" here for some time but never posted. I have received a lot of great info and encouragement from this board.
I am 45 (46 in July) and have pretty much experienced all the symptoms of peri except that my periods have always been regular. As of today, I am 2 weeks and 1 day late (that has never happened except when I was expecting). I am thinking that I am finally getting into that stage of peri - the irregular period stage!
I had my tubes tied 12+ years ago - just in case you are questioning pregnancy. I have never had a scare since! (I have 2 kids 17 & 13)
Anyway - if anyone has any advice, etc. thanks and just thanks for listening.

Hi there labmom,i am the same as you,i never really worried about periods my h had a vasectomy 10 years ago so i just took it as it came never worried,then 3 years ago i went really ill,ive been through everything MRI,CT and spinal tap all came back clear,then last year i missed 3 periods out of 5 and my GP said oh its the menopause,Ggggrrr i could have killed,but since then i have been able to relax about my symptoms i still get most of them they change from day to day,just today i felt fine all day then tonight i was doing tea and all of a sudden started to shake but not visibly,weird but it was inside so i have just had my shower and come up stairs to relax and i find this helps,i now know when i have done to much and when it is time to stop and take a break. I do hope all goes well for you best wishes :)

I am 45 and having a ton of peri related symptoms right now. It seemed to come out of nowhere and just hit me. I've noticed that my body will just twitch. I'll just be sitting there and my shoulders will twitch for a second..or my arm..someplace on my body just moves. I also have a very weak bladder. And my periods are every 21 days..but this month 23. I never thought it would feel like this. I just never expected to feel this bad all the time. I've lost my energy..I'm depressed and I feel like I have nothing to look forward to. And I'll wake up in the night..not entirely sweating..but I'll feel very warm and yank off some of my pj's. My feet are freezing..so I'll wear socks and then I have to pull them off. I'm truly hating every minute of this.

Thanks for your reply. I hope you are having a good day today. I, too, have had that awful "internal" shaking. It's just something you can't describe to someone who's never been through it. Guess we'll just have to keep on following this board and helping eachother out.
