if you make the test papanikolaou it will show what hpv you have?

Not the strain - just whether you have warts or abnormal cells.

hi katerine,
yes, a pap smear will show abnormal cells and if you have hpv. as the other poster said, it won't show what type of strains you may have. there are quite a few and some of them are dangerous in that they may cause reproductive system cancer and so forth. please have pap smears every six months, if you are ever diagnosed with hpv!
