My 6 month old brother has RSV. It showed up Thursday night, we took him to the Ped. Friday as soon as possible. Now he has a high fever and has vomited several times. The Ped. said it would get worse before it got better but we are not sure how much worse and what things to look out for. The things we are finding on the internet are really inconsistent, so if someone could let us know.
We don't want to take him into the ER if this is just the worse part.

We have been giving him breathing treatments every 4 hours since Friday morning.

Is he eating/drinking? How is his breathing? Is it noisy? My son had this at around the same age and it can be very scary. Are the breathing treatments the only meds he is on? Babies can get dehydrated very quickly. I think you should have him checked out right away. How high is the fever? RSV can be very dangerous and your brother may need to be hospitalized. Many babies with RSV need to be treated in the hospital. Please let us know how he is doing.

I know this may sound weird, but if there are chemical trails in your area, there are increases in RSV and sickness when they are spraying. Have you ever noticed long white streaks going across the sky? It is caused by high flying airplanes, but they are not commericial airliners. They have a sprayer on each side and they create long streak across the sky in different directions and afterwards the streak spread out and wispy "clouds." The first time I saw this, I freaked out, I thought something was happening, but most people don't think twice about this. It first began in the 1970's, but spraying really didn'y start happening until 1997. Now, it is likely you will see it happening in your skies wherever you live. San Diego has been sprayed heavily this past week, I took pictures too. The government explains them off as airlines and contrails, but if you have seen a contrail, they dissapear and are not very long at all. I live next to the airport and I know the air traffic pattern, and we had planes spraying in all different directions this past week, flying higher and in directions the airliners do not go. he government does not tell us what is happening, but many believe it is either to make us sick and is shown to increase respiratory infections/virus, sickness, or it is weather control/experimentation. You can look up chemical trails on the internet, but it is suggested on spray days that you stay inside so you do not expose yourself, that is my point.

Just watch your own skies sometime, you can also gind pictures on the internet if you are unsure. It information on the increase of sickness/respiratory is also out there.

My youngest had RSV when he was a newborn. We ended up spending close to a month in the hospital for that and he developed pneumonia. Yeah in a lot of cases it gets works before it gets better. But through all that he never vomited not once in that whole month time span. Did the doctor actually run a test for RSV (which is a swab to the back of the throat) or did he just say this is what he has?

The worse is really the worst and a highish fever and throwing up is not that IMO. When we took my son to the hospital the first time I watched my son stop breathing and turn blue in my arms. I watched my son get intubated because he could not breath on his own. I watched my son get life flighted to a large hospital in another city so that he could be placed in PICU.

RSV is a nasty illness that can be life threating in a lot of cases. Please if you think its RSV and you think its getting worse please get him to a hospital.
