Has anyone gone on the pill to ease peri symptoms? I'm having a ton of them, especially bladder weakeness. I need to get some estrogen and I'm concerned about the pill because of all the nasty side effects. Which pill is best for women in peri? Anyone know?

I am 48 and in peri, or at least have appeared to be for the past couple of years. My doctor just started me on Yaz because of a thick uterine lining, which puts me at a higher risk of uterine cancer. I just started it yesterday so it is too soon to know about the actual side effects. I did notice some nausea today but it wasn't too bad. My gyn told me that the serious side effects, like heart attack and blood clots are not nearly as likely as long as you are not a smoker. Yaz is supposed to be a very low dose type of BC pill so you may want to do some reasearch on it or ask about it.
