Usually they say to give it a good full month before you notice the full effects of any medication. But it could be sooner. It depends on the medication and the person. Hope that helped. :)

Hi there,
I am on Abilify and I started feeling very subtle changes after about 10 days and I would say the full effect after about a month or a bit more.

Hi Hybrid,
I am on abilify and it is my favorite! It totally helped me, but it took a while to kick in. It took about 4-6 weeks. In the mean time my doc gave me Ativan. It helped me until the Abilify started taking effect. I would stick with the Abilify for a while, it is a fanastic med. Don't give up on it
Good Luck,

Thanks for all your input, it is my daughter that has been on it for about 3 weeks now, originally she was on paxil then they changed to 20 mg prozac and 7.5 mg Abilify and I have noticed a really good improvement in her mood etc so I wondered how long it takes for the full effect, the doctor wants to bring her down off the prozac and just keep her on Abilify she has depression and anxiety but this is the best I have seen her, has anyone just taken Abilify and had good results with it:)
