Hi Donna,
If you substitute right for left, you are almost describing the migraines I have been getting for over 25 years!!
It's good that you have had an MRI to rule out bad things that could be causing it.
What does your GP say about it? Has he/she sent you to a Neurologist or a headache specialist?
What is the pain medicine that you are taking? How much do you take and do you take it every day? What about over the counter meds.?
How high on the pain scale (if 0 is no pain and 10 is "I wanna die" pain) do your headaches get?
You say they last for a week, how many times a month do you get them? How do they go away? Do they just leave you one night when you are sleeping, or can you actually feel them subside??
Cheers//Woody

If you are talking aboout a constant headache lasting a week I am more inclind to say migraine but if you are talking about several headaches a day always comming and going it could be a cluster headache. What you describe sounds like it could be a cluster but... Do you get nausiated and sick sign of migraine
....Do you get ha same time every day sign of cluster
.... Do you water at eye and nose sign of cluster
.... Do you rock, roll, pace, bang your head, sign of cluster
.... Do you have ha that lasts more than 5 hours sign of migraine.
Good luck in finding a diagnosis and a preventative.

Hi Donna,
Did my post show up on this thread? In it I asked a few questions trying to narrow things down and eliminate other things that might be causing you problems. I'm not sure if your last post was directed to me. Woody

Hello,
It sounds like you could be having cluster headaches! People that get cluster headaches get sharp pain behind one eye and the eye waters and nose, try looking up some information on it it may be your problem!
Good luck!

Hi,
These are pain patterns for trigger points in muscles of the neck and shoulders, especially the suboccipitals, the sternocleidomastoid and the trapezius. See if you can find a good physical therapist, neuromuscular therapist or massage therapist well trained and experienced in the treatment of these muscles. It would be ideal to find someone who understands postural analysis and structural massage because pelvic misalignment leads to corrections in the cervical area, putting a lot of strain and tension in those muscles. Just releasing the muscles may relieve your symptoms, but the problem will recur if the cause in your structure is not corrected!

I agree that it could be clusters. That is what I suffer from and the symptoms sound familiar.

Hi, littlesheep I answered your last response about is this cronic sinsusis. Like you I have been having the same problems as you. Watery eyes, runny nose, pain and so on only in the right eye. My neurologist said this could be related to my sinsus so he is sending me to see an Ears, Nose and Throat DR next week and I am to have an MRI run on Friday. If you have a few minutes please read my answer to your last post. It may or may not help you with what you are dealing with. Please let me know how things go and if this helps.
Thanks snooter

So what you are saying is that you will not be able to see an ENT for another 17 months. WOW I was able to get to see an ENT in this area in about a week. There must not be many ENT's in your area. I hope that you can find something out soon.
