Hi,
Has anyone tried the new Generic Fentanyl Patch made by Watson? I went to get my script last week and I've been on Mylan for about 8 months now 100mcg and figured I'd get the usual.
Got home and opened the bag and seen the new box with "Fentanyl" in big letters and Watson on the bottom. Did some research and found they were just approved by the FDA back in August or September 2007. They are like the Sandoz I guess. I've never been on anything but the Mylan which a number of you know are the dot matrix type which just looks like a nicotine patch and the medicine is in the adhesive.
These have the medicine in the pouch like Duragesic and Sandoz. So far I like them much better than the Mylan. Work better and haven't had any problem with sticking. Does irratate my skin a little more than the Mylan did, but no rash.
Just thought I would share and see if anyone else has tried them and get your feedback too.
Take care,
Dennis :)

they work just as good as the name brand and the Sandoz type IMHO. :)

Can you tell us which pharmacy you got those from? I was just curious. I get the Sandoz brand but had to switch from CVS to a smaller pharmacy to get the Sandoz brand.

I also shop Walgreens. I hate the Watson patches and the brand name. The patches are too large and I am allergic to the adhesive and I don't have sensitive skin. The Mylan work better, they stay on better for me and as a female they couture better to curves. I contacted corporate, now my local store carries the Mylan for me. The store told me that they had alot of complaints about the change to Watson.

I also just recently got them with out having to pay the extra --used to get the Sandoz because they were the same as name brand--but insurance made me pay the difference--Tried the Mylan and they did NOT work as well--These Watson are great--and my insurance is not charging me the extra--just the normal $35 co-pay for generic. P.s You may need to cut and paste the link into your browser since it's not all on one line.
If the link doesn't work, type "mylan patch vs Duragesic in the search button and you'll get the thread that way.
