View Full Version : Constant Head Pressure/Eye Pain.. Please HELP

I recently had surgery to remove a cyst/mucose from my left maxillary sinus. This having been a result of blockage to that sinus caused possibly by two other surgeries I had the previous year to deal with a deviated septem and broken bones.
I have been suffering from headaches that mainly feel like eye-strain (which I get ALL the time). Now after my recent surgery I have constant headaches and eye pressure on the LEFT eye only. It gets bloodshot and dark underneath the eye. Also bad pain (droning - not sharp) in my left temple and top of my head. This rarely stops for more than an hour and over-the-counter pain meds do NOTHING to dull the pain.

ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, should I go see a neurologist or stick with the ENT doctors who did my surgery? Thank you.

This sounds like it could potentially be cluster headaches. I say that because with cluster headaches the pain is usually behind the eye and the eye will sometimes droop and/or become red. Pain is also found in the temple area and top of the head and no over the counter meds will help.
Good luck I hope you find out what it is.

Any headache that does not respond to over the counter medications and lasts more than a day or so needs to be investigated by a doc. See your doc to find out what is going and get treatment if needed.
