Hi Everyone,
I've had C3-7 fused w hardware. Initial rupture at C6-7 in 12/92. I had last fusion 1/06 at C3-4 by a neurosurgeon and had good results. Upper back felt great until a few months ago when the intense aching started. Then about 6 wks ago got a headache and "stiff neck" that wouldn't quit. Primary said sinus pressure and prescribed decongestant. No help; after 10 days I went back because headache is bad and unrelenting.
I'm having MRI tomorrow but my Primary wants me to see a new pain doc who is "interested in nonsurgical methods" and has started a pain center. He's an internist, never been an anesthesiologist. Reading about him it seems all he offers is injections or some traction machine.
I'm really scared to see any sort of chiropractic person because of all the cervical surgery I've had, I'm afraid I'll break something. I also had a shoulder replaced due to OA. Have bad OA, RA and DDD.
Would appreciate input as to experiences with orthopods vs neurosurgeon vs chiro.
Thanks so much!
