Hi everyone
Well my little man is 5 1/2 months old. He is breastfed. I introduced oatmeal a couple weeks ago. He usually gobbles it up (with the exception of a couple of days when he was sick) I was going to introduce peas now. How much do you give them when starting out? I still give the oatmeal then right? I give him his oatmeal at night cause that is when my supply is lower. So I would give him the peas for lunch wouldn't I, then oatmeal at night? Thanks everyone Sherri :)

Sherri-Lynne ~ I think that sounds about right. You may want to try one of the sweeter veggies first though, like sweet potatoes or squash. He may like that a little better. The earlier in the day you introduce it, the more time you have to watch for any kind of allergic reaction.
Other than that, sounds pretty good to me. I think the whole solids food business intimidates people - SELF included!!! LOL. My little girl was born 7/31 last year, so she's almost 6 months. I STILL need to get on the ball with all this food stuff. Just seems like there's so much to learn! So far she's just doing oatmeal in the AM and PM...lazy lazy mommy. Good luck to you! Let us know how he likes it!

It sounds like a good plan to me. Just a note though, the Gerber peas are NASTY, so even though they're a little more, you might invest in Earth's Best first peas. I don't like canned vegetables at all, and I actually like their peas, and all their foods for that matter. DS absolutely LOVES them and gobbles them down. He's 7 months and we just introduced peas a little over a week ago, b/c I was worried about allergies and, well I can't believe I waited so long looking at how much he likes them, LOL.

Thanks guys.
I have to wait to give him the peas for a little bit as he has a cold and is really stuffed up. I want him to feel better before I start something new.
I am going to give him all organic food. It is the same price as the other jarred food so I figured that would be better for him instead. Also one more qestion. Do you burb them after they eat solid foods? Thanks everyone Sherri :)

We use all organic too, LOL! That's why I mentioned Earth's Best, we LOVE it. I don't burp DS anymore, ever. If he needs to burp he's able to get it out on his own, but he's over 7 months old too.

Hi Monica
So good to hear from you. I wrote back the other day but just as I finished Daunte hit something on the computer and erased everything. Then I didn't have time to write back that day and meant to do it today.
Glad everything is going well for you. I know it is hard to adjust to the 2 kids. My DD feels left out sometimes but when she does she tells us and we spend some mommy daughter time alone. Daunte just adores his big sister though. She can make him start laughing like crazy. When she is gone he looks for her everywhere and then when she comes back he gets the biggest smile on his face.
Daunte is a big boy. Right now he is 21lbs. He is also sick right now and not sleeping at all. And very cranky. I'm the only one that can hold him. If DH is holding him he cries like crazy.
I started Daunte on the solid foods and he isn't sleeping any better. But it could of been this cold comming on. Cause he was sleeping through the night for a good month. Sometimes still waking once but usually not. Or I think he is teething as well. So between both things he really hasn't slept to well in a month. I hope you have better luck with Ian.
My family is good and we have adjusted to Daunte quite well. I can't imagine life without him now. It is alot more hectic but well worth it. I am happily surprised hat DD took to him so good. She helps me out so much and plays with him most of the day.
I hope you and your family are doing well. I hope you will stay in touch. I seen your post and got a big smile on my face. Write again soon. Take care hon, Sherri :)

Hi Monica
Close but Daunte is the 11th. Poor little guy had an ear infection in both ears. He is on antibiotics now so he is feeling sooo much better. He is back to his old self again. He wants really bad to start to walk around. I think he will be walking early. No interest in being on his stomach.
I wish that we could post pictures too. I get Daunte's tommorow from the photographer. I am so excited to see them. I would love together. Maybe one day we could meet somewhere. LOL we'll figure out someway.
I hope that we can stay in touch here. I'll be here or the parenting part. I really feel like we are twins. We have so much in common.
I took Daunte off the soilds for a little bit. Just until he gets better. The medicine is giving him diarreha. He poops at least 6 times a day. He now has a little diaper rash. But I hope some cream will fix that soon.
Ian is a big boy too. Watch he will be 21lbs like Daunte by 5 months. Are you bottle feeding him? I have no idea how much Daunte takes in. He is breastfed but I know he is getting enough.
Hope to hear from you soon. Sherri :)
