Hi all, I have a question. Anyone out there that is currently taking metformin and has had regular periods. I recently thought I would TTC and was getting myself ready and now AF has not shown not really anyway. What has been happening is really scaring me and I can't seem to find any answers. I can't even get any from my doc all she has said is maybe you're diabetic now. She is refusing to give me a hcg blood test. I had to argue with her to get the answers I did get. So she order a fasting blood test for my sugar levels. But I am really concerned about what's happening. My stomach swells and gets hard and then I will have some light bleeding only when I pee. Sorry I know TMI. It hurts if I let go to long without resting. Please any ideas or info or comments are welcomed. I am one that truly believes that wisdom is out there in the people and I do learn from that wisdom.

Have you taken a home pregnancy test? I had regular periods on met before my daughter was born and since, i have not been able to regulate them yet. However, if you think you are pregnant, which some spotting may occur with - you should take a blood test for sure. Maybe go to a different doctor?

I know I have a doctor picked out but I'm so nervous about changing doctors. But this Lower ab problem any ideas why this could be happening. Another question when after you have a baby aren't your hormones all outta whack? At least that's what I've been told. How old is your baby girl maybe your body just needs time. I hope things balance out for the both of us. I never want to go back to when everything was so outta whack.

I know how you feel. Its very hard and so frusturating when things don't function normally. My daughter is 10 months old. I got my first period two three months after she was born - a month after I stopped breastfeeding. But only got one normal one since that - and it was several months later. I know you are nervous about changing doctors, but I think that you may just want to go to see what the other doctor says - just for informational purposes and if you don't like them - you don't have to go back.
Do you think that you could be pregnant? What day of your cycle are you on and have you POAS yet?

And so you know, there are places that you can purchase an HCG test from. Not sure if they have Quest in CA, but that is a lab here that you can just have any test you want done and pay out of pocket for. The HCG is like $25 or so.

I could be preg but we weren't really trying yet. It was more like funny times w/o care. I just starting to track my bbt. Yes I did POAS and got a bfn. And my cycle I really DHAC. I've never tracked it before. Was just about to start then this. I am taking your advise I am going to select a new doctor. One that will be a little more supportive. No but we are so close to the border that I'm going on Monday and getting both the test and an ultra sound to see what's going on. It should cost me no more that $60. I hope with both those things I'll get my answers. Please keep in prayer.

:confused:Well, after a little arguing i finally convinced my doc to give me a blood test i am a little upset that i had to go through so much in order to get a simple test. the test came back a bfn. I'm not sure i trust her, but we will go with that for now. I still have not seen AF though. We are now at the end of Jan. If the spotting was my period why so light and so short on the "real" bleed? It was even enough to chng my pad ok way tmi. but I'm really afraid now. If my blood test was neg what else could this be. Why is AF staying away. My stomach is still getting hard and i still spot if i let go for too long, but what also scares me is i'm getting used to it.
Any ideas out there?
