Hey everyone! Thanks for your encouraging posts! And Mapia, thank you so much for starting me a new thread
I've had a really busy weekend but it has been so much fun. I spent yesterday at a spa with a few of my closest girlfriends. It was so nice to be pampered... and our weather was so awesome we got to hang out by the pool and get some sun! It even got so hot we had to take a little dip! Funny cause today it is raining, which is alright by me too... I love when we get rain!
Well I'm feeling pretty good... no bad headaches the last few days. On Sat I bumped up my estradiol from one tab twice a day to two tabs. On Wed I'll start taking it 3 times a day. And then my next appointment is Thursday to take a look at my lining. Hopefully it's starting to thicken up nicely!!! I'll be keeping you guys posted!!!
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend! Babydust to everyone!!!

Hi Kari!
I'm jealous too -- that you got to go to the spa and sit by the pool ;)! Sounds like you had a great weekend! You definately deserve the relaxation!!!! I'm glad you had a good time! Is it typically pretty warm out that way even in February? (I have never been out west). I am not a rain person either -- but maybe because when it rains here it is just so dreary, and because it's not an uncommone occurrence!
I'm so happy that the headaches have gotten better. And now I cannot wait until your appointment on Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love,

Kelley, yeah its usually fairly warm during the day here in the winter but our nights can be quite cold. I enjoy the fall and spring months the most, for sure. Well hun I'm excited for hearing the updates on your cycle this week. I think the slow and steady progress is gonna be good for you!
Char, so are you having your new therapist give you treatment demonstrations? If so I think that is a grand idea! Hope the last few days of your 2ww are going well!
Mapia, thx for being excited for me. I keep staring at my calendar cause I can't believe its so close! I'm off to bed now and hopefully will have sweet baby dreams:angel:

Hi Kari, your weekend sounds fabulous! I have never gotten a spa treatment, but I keep saying I need to go. I'm not one for pampering myself, but you are really making me think I should start!! We all deserve a little star treatment.
Just wanted you to know how excited I am for you sweetie!!! Thursday is getting close, & I think things will really start to move from there. Can't wait to celebrate w/ you!!!!

Hi guys! Well I had a bit of a rough nite... a couple months ago, right about the same time I'm at now in my cycle, I had a horrific stomach ache. Not a normal one, but constant pain and up very high. Well it happened again last nite. I could feel it coming on before I went to bed and woke up at 3am with it much worse. Interesting is that again, I'm on the estradiol and baby aspirin when it happened. I had a couple of big glasses of wine of Fri nite and it's the first alcohol I've had since 1/5 (is that sad that I know the exact date? I clearly missed my wine ;). Then I had a coke yesterday, which I rarely do. Those are the same things that seemed to trigger the stomach ache last time. So I definitely think I can't consume alcohol or caffeine while I'm taking baby aspirin. Thank goodness I still had some of the pain killers from before when I went to the emergency room. After debating whether it was the right thing to do for about 45 minutes (I don't even like taking tylenol for headaches), I finally popped a pill at 4am and fell back asleep shortly thereafter. Woke up feeling much better in the tummy, just kinda exhausted.
Well I'm off to acupuncture in a little while. Hopefully that will help restore some of the energy and balance that was thrown off by last nite's tummy ache. :)

OH no, Kari, I am SO sorry to hear abotu the stomach problems you had again!! That sounds liek torture, it really does. :( I'm so sorry you had to go through it. Does your RE know? Is (s)he the one who told you to take baby aspirin? But yes, you're right, it could definitely be because of the wine and coke. (Coke you drink, not the drug, yes?) No more of those for you, little lady!! :D :nono: :D
I'm so hoping the acupuncture helps!! I'm not sure I understand or really believe all the meridians and channeling Qi and stuff, but I knwo that it helps relax ( FOR SURE!) and I think that it gets things liek nerves and muscles triggered so the body can heal itself. Tell them abotu your tummy problems, and maybe they can help!! :D
Good luck~~

Hi Kari I am so sorry that you had a such a rough night and that your tummy was so sore, but I am glad that you are feeling better.
To answer your question about my therapist, when I employ someone I usally get them to do a few treatments on me so I can get a feel of how they work. For example she will have to do a body massage on me so I can feel her pressure and see what sequence she does her massages and so on. Then I can give her advise if need be. She was a student last year and this is her first proper job in a salon and if I am pg then I need to train her the way I want her to work so she can eventually take over my clients and I can feel confident that she will treat them the same way as I do and then I can look after my miracle. :D
I hope you have a wonderful day.

Kari,
Oh no! I am so sorry that you had such a rough night!!! That is awful! And for it to hurt so badly! I am so sorry!!! I can see how different food or drinks could trigger something, but I would have never thought it would be that painful. I am gald that you are feeling better!!! (And Princess, you had me cracking up asking if it was Coke she drank and not the drug, lol... You are TOO funny!)
I hope you're feeling even better after accupuncture! DH and I were talking last night and we decided that if this cycle doesn't work, we're going to try it starting next cycle (which will likely be us trying naturally since AF will come during vacation). It's worth a try!
And the spa talk has me wanting to go in one of these days for a massage! :)
Hope the rest of your day is going well!

I am glad your feeling better today:) Enjoy your visit to the accupuncture, I hope you come out feeling relaxed and have everything channeled to the right place.

Kari, I'm so sorry to hear you had another rough night. I'm glad that the pain reliever helped & you were at least able to get some rest. I hope that is the last sleepless night you will have related to IF. I also hope the day goes quickly for you so you can get home and relax on the couch.

LOL, Princess, you really are funny... yes coke the drink, not the drug :nono: :jester:
Acupuncture went well, but it was a bit cold in the room today, and I hate when my toes are cold :) This afternoon has been busy... it's bill-pay day for DH's businesses so I couldn't catch a nap. Unfortunately we made plans to go to a movie tonite with some friends and I can't back out since the plan was to split two of us girls to one movie and the three guys to another. The boys are seeing cloverfield and I have no interest in a movie that might make me motion sick. No thanks... I'll stick to a chick flick. We also had made plans to hit the CPK afterwards, but I am gonna push to cancel on that... I don't even know how I will stay awake for the movie!!!!:dizzy:
Kelley, if you haven't already, I'd def check into seeing if your insurance can cover some of the acupuncture if you do decide to get treatments. Mine doesn't, but then again, my insurance is pretty weak. I hear a lot of therapists can work it so the treatment is covered.
Hoping tonite is better with the tummy. My RE does have me on the baby aspirin and I had told him last cycle about the bad stomach episode. It didn't worry him. Hopefully last nite was it, and all will be back to normal tonite. I'm pretty sure it's acute gastritis (me self-diagnosing again :o) so I think if I avoid the triggers I'll be okay. :)

Kari I hope your well rested today. What movie did you watch? DH and I are big movie people. We go to the drive-in almost every weekend, sometimes I think we go for the food more than the movie:) DH will eat about 5 hot dogs between the 2 movies and we get the biggest tub of popcorn on the face of the planet!!
Do you notice any chances after doing accupuncture? I am going to start it up next month and I am exctied!!!
Accupuncture can be included in your tax deductions as long as your medical is 7.5% of your AGI (adjusted gross income). Make sure you save every reciept for every parking pass, write down every mile you drive (even to pick up your meds) because it counts as .20cents/mile. RE told us we have to stay in a hotel the night before our ET because of how bad Atlanta traffic is, so the hotel and meals is also to be included in the tax deductions.
Hope this info will help:)

Kari, sorry I haven't been around much...I've been super busy. I'm sorry to see you're not feeling well. You've finally gotten rid of those headaches...and now it's your stomach!!!:( I'm hoping you'll be able to get a nap today and you're able to cope with your stomach pains. I hope you were able to stay awake through the movie last night and you weren't forced to go to dinner afterwards. Hope you have a good day!!! - April

Hi Kari!
I hope that last night went way better as far as your stomach goes!!! How are you feeling today?
How were the movies? Hope you had a good time!!!
Thanks for the accupuncture info (and thanks for the advice also, Praying!)! I think I'll definately give it a try next month!
Have a great day!

Oh, BTW -- how often is it recommended to go for accupuncture? And is it best at a certain time during your cycle?

01-29-2008, 11:35 AM
Lol, I self-diagnose too!! :D :o
Oh, I'm sorry the acupuncture room was cold. I don't like it when my toes or fingers are cold either! Were you still able to relax and let the acupuncture do it's magic? I usually come out very drifty and la la la la (that's the only way I can describe it) were you able to get there with your feet being cold?
Oooh, no, I wouldn't see Cloverfield either.... iheard it was a really cool story, but the filming was enough to make my boss unable to eat his popcorn. And that's pretty bad. :jester:
Whatever you edned up doing, I hope you had an amazing time and that your tummy has settled down and is behaving itself.
I have such a strong positive feeling for you about this cycle Kari, I really, truly do.
