I'm starting to wonder what's going on with my doctor. The last few months I've had lots of problems with my prescriptions. She always writes them three months at a time 10mg Oxy, 20mg Oxy and 5 mg oxy for bt.
I think it was the batch before this last one....She writes my prescritptions and when I get home I realize that I have given her the wrong dates. I told her the Oxy was due on one date and the bt med a week later...I had them reversed. So she said drive back in and I'll switch them for you. Great. So, I go pick them up and get the first two filled. A month later I pull the next batch out and lo and behold she hasn't signed them...nor the ones for the next month. So I call and she is on vacation for two weeks. The nurse talks a new doc into rewriting them but he's not happy about it and will only fix one months worth. I say ok I'll just call her next month to fix the next one.
Ok fast forward to the next batch of scripts....I get to the second month and same thing...no signature. So, I call and bring in the unsigned one and pick up the signed one. Now, I only needed my breakthrough this week and the Oxycontin next week so I wasn't sure if she was only writing one or all three. (Also, because the communication between the receptionists, nurses and doctors isn't great...you never know what the final message may be by the time it gets to the doctor.)I get to the pharmacy and she's written the bt med and one of the Oxycontins and it says...fill on or after December 26th.....what???
I know, I know, you're all saying.."READ IT BEFORE YOU LEAVE DUMMY!!!"
I usually do but today I was really busy and when there's a big line and you have to sign for it.....The other times I've looked at them but just didn't notice the lack of signature.
I feel really bad having to call her again and ask for yet another prescription! I only had the bt filled today because I didn't need the Oxy and I didn't have time to go back to the doctor and straighten it out.
I hope my doc's not losing it. She's always been way on top of things. Maybe somethings going on in her personal life that's got her stressed. I don't know but I've been seeing her for 10 years and she's never, ever made a mistake before...not one.
Thanks for listening to me vent.
Has anyone had these sort of troubles before?~Mush

Hi Mush,
Yep, my new doctor is the same way, I dont remember my old doctor even once having a problem, but more than once, I have had scripts handed back to me because he didnt sign them and I forgot to check, not a big deal if its at the small pharmacy in his building, but if I drive to another town to walmart and wait in line first? grrrr!
My new doc also has a couple of times written new directions that are so confusing, I have had to wait up to 2 hours for my meds, because the pharmacist wont fill them until he speaks to my doctor in person and asks what he meant.
My problem is solved now, because the only med that I cant get in house, in his building, is a non narcotic with a years refills at a time.
I dont think they are losing it, probably just overworked and distracted, and you have to try and remember to check them over yourself before you leave his presence, I know, easier said than done lol but I think thats your only solution here.
Feel free to vent anytime, I certainly do!
