View Full Version : Question about Vent Aire

I don't have the info that comes with the bottle anymore (last baby) and I was wondering a couple of things:

1. Why do you have to remove the nipple to warm? Is this necessary?

2. Someone mentioned that you can't warm in water - that the water will come into the bottle. Is this something that people have noticed?

I pump and fill bottles so it seems annoying that I can't warm with a nipple or in water. I'd prefer to pump directly in the bottles to save some "dishes". I recently found that the Vent Aire work well for DS so I would like to stick with them.

All replies appreciated.

I never removed the nipple and I warmed my daughter's bottles in water when she was a newborn and I used these same bottles. I never had any issues.

Hi there,

The reason that you're supposed to take the nipple off to warm is because with these particular bottles, the nipples need to be sucked on to be opened. With most bottles, the hole in the nipple is always open so it allows for the heat to escape, but with these there's no way for the heat to get out. I'm not sure what would happen really if you heat it with the nipple on though.... And as far as heating in water goes, that is definitely still the best way to heat a bottle (especially breast milk), you just have to be careful with the top off that you don't let the bottle tip over in the water. I do the same thing that you do with pumping into the bottle, and then I just immediately use that bottle for ds so I don't have to worry about heating it up. Hope this helps!
