View Full Version : Should I exercise to build up Iron?

I had my hemoglobin checked last week. It was 9.7. I do get really exhausted when I try to go for a walk. Should I be trying to exercise, or wait till I get my hemoglobin up? I did start taking Iron Supplements.

Thanks

Exercise does use up/destroy some red blood cells so you *may* want to hold off on the exercise until you can get your hemoglobin up to 11 or 12. For now, you might just want to try to stick with stretching exercise or some yoga. For now, the exercise is going to zap all your strength but it is important to keep limber and fluid.
