i've been on disability thru the state for diabetic neuropathy, degenerative disk disease, arthritis in my back, pain meds for the pain, meds for the neuropathy... the doctor told me to apply for permanent disability based on the neuropathy. she said basically, 'you're in with diabetic neuropathy'.

i read so many negative things about disability. i dont think i could handle a long battle, like the ones i read about here. i've been on state disability since last april (it started out as Diabetic Ketoacidosis, but came around to diabetic neuropathy). anyone have any answers? thank you

What SSD wants to know is, can you do any type of work. If you cannot and show that by your replies on their forms, have doctors notes to substantiate that, and medical reports, then you might be one of the lucky ones that gets it the first time. There is no way to know for sure until you apply. If you have reached the stage that you cannot work due to pain then give it a try, file.
Good luck.

Just a thought: you might want to get any and all records of prescriptions filled through the years from the doctors who have prescribed meds for whatever reason. Evidence is key....
